Web 2.0 Technology and Digital Event

Shift Happens...
York Theatre Royal
Thursday 3rd July 2008

What does web 2.0 mean for your organisation? The phrase is being increasingly used, but often with little understanding of what it means.

What does it mean for the artistic and creative process?

What role can technology play in audience development?

Are you concerned it will be expensive, time consuming or difficult?

Web 2.0 offers genuine interactivity. In other words it's a two way process which enables us to build communities, engage in dialogue and enrich experiences. This can include websites.YouTube, MySpace, Second Life, Facebook, podcasts, podcasts etc, this is not about adding 'digital' to what we do. It's about changing the way we do things as this is what our audiences are doing. And it doesn't need to be expensive or difficult.

Shift Happens looks at the potential of technology for arts organisations. We'll aim to answer the following questions:

What Technology Tools are available?
How do I use it?
Why would I want to use it - what are the benefits?

With keynote speakers, live links and performances, it will showcase some of the most exciting models and case studies internationally, and show you how to maximise the potential. There will be a strong focus on 'how to' do things. Shift Happens will also offer great networking opportunities, a forum for debate and a platform for learning and the exchange of ideas.

Who is it for?
This senior level event is aimed at Artistic Directors, Chief Executives, Heads of Marketing and individual artists.

How can I book?
