Access to Film

The Access To Film fund is targeted at helping people from under-represented or disadvantaged communities who have not previously had access to filmmaking, to create work of the highest quality.

To apply, organisations must demonstrate they have an established track record of working in film and moving image with diverse communities, and the ability to facilitate excellent individual filmmaking. Vision and Media is particularly looking to work with organisations that embrace the new digital age of film and can encourage individuals with distinct, new voices.

Organisations will be expected to deliver their work in more than one of the areas that make up the Vision and Media region, and on this basis, joint working of informal consortia will be encouraged.

Awards will be from £5,000 to £20,000 unless a consortium is being considered in which case please seek advice from Vision and Media.

To be eligible companies must:
· Be a legally constituted organisation with a written constitution or set of rules.
· Operate from within the Northwest region of England (Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside).
· Have the necessary experience and track record to deliver projects that meet Vision and Media's objectives for this fund (see guidelines). Be able to secure a minimum of 30% match funding.
· Only apply for projects which commence after 1st April 2008 and end by 31st March 2009.
