We're pleased to announce that North West Vision and Media Training North West are working with Pact to continue hosting a programme of selected Pact short courses in the North West.
The next two courses are now scheduled for the new year -
'Dealing with Difficult People' on the 17th January and 'Preparing
and Presenting Documentary Proposals' on the 14th March. Both will
take place at Manchester Town Hall.
Please find all relevant details enclosed in the PDF's below with
information about each of the courses together with details of how
to book. If you would like to book a place on either course please
liaise with Pact directly as per the instructions on the flyers.

Dealing with Difficult People
A 1-day seminar for production managers / team managers or anyone
who would like to develop their people management skills.
Content:
• defining difficult and aggressive behaviour
• understanding, predicting and dealing with incidents
• game playing and how to avoid it
• building positive relationships
• non verbal behaviour
• personal development planning
Format:
A highly practical day that will help you identify your strengths
and weaknesses in a conflict
situation and develop the skills you need to manage difficult
situations. Using TV based case
studies, exercises, questionnaires and delegates’ own
experiences.

Preparing and Presenting Documentary
Proposals
An intensive, hands-on workshop on how to prepare documentary
projects for presentation to commissioning editors/funding
bodies
During the workshop, delegates will:
• receive intensive training in treatment writing and project
presentation
• develop personal marketing skills
• learn about the types of market available for
documentary/factual programmes
• explore what information is crucial from the start, what can
come later
• gain insights into the importance of’ ‘the
team’
• discover how to avoid some common pitfalls
Attendees:
Anyone who wants to understand more about what is needed in the
early stages of the pitching/commissioning process for
documentary.
Format:
Delegates are required to submit a 1-page proposal of a
documentary/factual project (prior to the course date –
deadline is 28.02.07) to be developed during the workshop. All
delegates must agree to keep this information confidential.
NOTE: proposals MUST be submitted by the specified deadline in
order to attend the
workshop.
