Joint Board statement from North West Vision and Media Training North West
Building on the success of the two organisations in growing the audiovisual industries in the Northwest, the Boards and Executives of North West Vision and Media Training North West have been working since before Christmas to merge their organisations into one integrated strategic and delivery body.
As part of this process, we are now advertising the position of CEO of Newco for open application.
The Boards believe that opening the application process to the widest range of candidates will find the best possible strategic leader to take Newco into the future.
This single, highly focussed, fit for purpose organisation will drive forward in the following areas:
- Supporting, investing in, and growing the TV, radio, film and digital media businesses of the Northwest
- Maximising the opportunities of the BBC move north for the region’s businesses and media professionals
- Developing the talent and skills base of the Northwest
- Developing new creative, technical, entrepreneurial and craft talent in the region
- Attracting more high growth media businesses to establish a base or work in the region
- Building on the Northwest’s current position as the largest production centre outside London
- Marketing the wealth of opportunity in the region to the relevant industries, public agencies and the wider public
- Promoting and delivering diversity as a cross cutting theme across all these objectives
