Manchester's Top TV Programme Makers Reveal All

On the 14th March at the Lowry the Cultural Diversity Network North (CDNN) will unveil its exciting new strategy, name its new Chair and announce Shameless star Christopher Bisson as the new Patron.

Eamonn O’Neal will be taking over from BBC Executive Producer Caroline Roberts in March. He will be responsible for overseeing the actions of the new strategy, which will be unveiled at the event.

‘Caroline Roberts has been an inspirational and dedicated Chair of CDNN for the last two years and she has been the driving force behind tackling the issues which arise from employing and representing diverse communities in the media. I’m delighted to have been asked to take over from Caroline. With her support and the support of the members, I hope I can build on what has been achieved so far.’ – Eamonn O’Neal

‘I’m very much looking forward to my involvement with CDNN. Diversity must be represented and celebrated in the media. The only way to do this is to have rich and fully inclusive creative industries. Exploring, understanding and representing the next generation of Britons is key. They can do this for themselves – with your help. Let’s get moving…’ says Christopher Bisson

The creative and business benefits of this strategy to the NW media economy are clearly defined and translated into a diverse programme of activity, including assisting innovation in leadership, connecting industries, communities and marginalised talent, and developing skills, knowledge and experience to encourage a revolutionary media landscape.

A brand new CDNN website, which can be found at www.cdnnorth.org.uk will launch on the eve of the unveiling.

Media Training North West is currently supporting CDNN and will be facilitating programme delivery.

‘We at Media Training NW are committed to creating an industry which truly reflects the diversity of the region. CDN North is a collaborative working which will ensure that the North West becomes a beacon in pioneering new employment and training opportunities.’ – says Lynne McCadden, CEO of Media Training NW

The network has existed in the North since 2004 and has been responsible for successful events such as last year’s ‘Move on Up North’
