Manchester Pride 2007
WE’RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE, TOTO…
…we’ve followed the yellow brick road to Manchester’s Cornerhouse for a series of special screenings to celebrate Pride, Manchester’s annual festival celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) life.
And later this month, everybody’s invited to join Tin Man, Lion, Scarecrow and Dorothy in all their Technicolor glory as they head up a fantastic choice of film that includes ‘The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveras’, ‘Mala Noche (Bad Night)’, ‘Show Me Love (F***ing Amål)’ and ‘The Walker’.
‘The Wizard of Oz’, is just one of many great flicks to be shown during the ten-day festival which culminates in The Big Weekend, 78 hours of non-stop partying and celebrations from 6pm on Friday 24th August right through until midnight on Monday 27th August.
Jackie Crozier, Festival Manager at Manchester Pride says: “Pride Screenings at Cornerhouse offer a chance to relax and enjoy a visual feast of classic and contemporary cinema. Cornerhouse has an important role in reflecting many aspects of modern culture through film and its great to see that they are once again addressing LGBT communities.”
