Lancashire Film Office

The Lancashire Film Office was established in 1995, joining North West Vision in April 2002, and has been co-located within Lancashire County Developments Ltd, the economic development arm of Lancashire County Council, since July 2004. Working together with our local authority partners is vital to the successful operation of Vision and Media’s film offices, and this is clearly evident in Lancashire, where the continued support of LCDL has enabled the Lancashire Film Office to grow.

Indeed, filming activity in Lancashire has gone from strength to strength, with 2006 our busiest year on record, resulting in 111 productions filming in the county. “That’s an eighty per cent increase on previous years,” explains Film Liaison Officer Lynda Banister, who is working hard to ensure that growth continues.

“Last year, filming activity brought in around £7 million to the local economy from production spend, which is why we’re determined to continue to improve the range of services on offer, making Lancashire an even more film friendly place to visit,” adds Lynda.
