Can you help a young person make a film?

Could you volunteer a little time to help a small charity make a big impact? Or to help a young person make a film?

If so, Media Trust would love to hear from you! We have a range of flexible volunteering opportunities specifically designed for media professionals. So if you're keen to use your media skills to make a difference you could...

- Help a small charity get its voice heard

Our Volunteer Films project is looking for film-makers who can volunteer their time and expertise to produce a short film for a small charity who would otherwise be unable to get their message across in this way. We are looking for both established film-makers and emerging talent with the passion and drive to make a film worth shouting about - previous films have won awards at film festivals, and all films get shown on the Community Channel. We would also love to hear from crew.

You may also be interested in our Media Matching service which matches a wide range of media professionals (including film-makers) with charities to support them on a range of communications needs - from PR to producing a promo film.

- Help young people create a film

Our Youth Mentoring scheme enables media professionals to share their practical skills and expertise with disadvantaged 13-25 year olds working on a media project. We are looking for people with hands-on media skills including TV and film production, new media, photography and journalism.

We have designed the scheme to be flexible: you can give a few hours for a one-off workshop or regular support for a longer-term project. We operate in targeted areas across England and are particularly in need of volunteer mentors in the following areas: Hull, Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester.
