Wanted! Filmmakers to take part in 7 day filmmaking challenge. Top Prize = £2000. Reduction Festival is a new arts festival based in Sheffield which is entirely dedicated to environmental/green content. In year 1, the festival is focusing exclusively on short film and is open to submissions from around the world for the Online Jury Prize (£1000 top prize).

Market Place: Skillset's New Entrant Training for Skills

Delivered by Film London and Film Export UK (FEUK), Market Place aims to provide people starting out in the industry with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to establish a successful career in film sales - whether it is in acquisitions, business affairs, publicity and marketing, or sales.


UK Film Council Short Film Completion Fund
Deadline: 10th November

The UK Film Council’s Short Film Completion Fund provides finance and support for short films that show outstanding potential but lack the funds to finish. The total annual fund available to the short film Completion Fund 2008/09 is £70,000. There will be two invitations for applications during 2008/09, and up to 14 films may be offered funding.

Birds Eye View Festival

We are seeking submissions from women filmmakers from around the globe, to be a part of a showcase programme of innovative and inspirational shorts, features and documentaries. Awards will be presented to Best Short Drama, Best Short Animation, Best Documentary and a special Award for Innovation.


FilmG Gaelic Language Short Film Competition

FilmG Scotland’s Gaelic-language short film competition are looking for fresh and exciting faces, voices and ideas just when a new Gaelic television channel is coming on air! This is YOUR chance to showcase your talent, develop your short as a broadcast pilot or win £5000. Do you have an idea for a 3-5 minute short film? Or a 60 second mobile phone short? Your film can be in any genre as long as it is in Gaelic.

This is a chance for you to keep up to date with what’s going on in Liverpool in the European Capital of Culture year and also to make a contribution by submitting YOUR OWN film to be seen on screen! We are looking for a variety of content including events, community projects, local films, and cultural conversations to be shown on the channel. Your work will be shown on OC 167 (on Sky) and online and is a great way to get your film/project out to the public!
