Bursaries for Exhibitors Fundraising Course

Northwest Vision and Media are offering two free places at the upcoming Fundraising, Sponsorship & Sustainable Development for Exhibitors course, presented by The Independent Cinema Office.

Date: 19th March 2008
Venue: Birkbeck Cinema, 41 Gordon Square, London WC1H 0PD

This course is aimed at creative people from UK independent cinemas, film festivals and mixed arts venues who are interested in learning essential business skills to develop their organisation.

In the current climate of fierce competition for arts funding, this course will show you how to approach different types of funders and develop partnerships with corporate sponsors, as well as providing optional sessions on writing a business plan and managing capital projects.

The course will be taught through workshops from fundraising and management specialists and real-life case studies from people who have raised money for their cinema or festival. The day will also provide invaluable networking opportunities on a national scale.

The course will cover:
· The fundraising landscape: funding sources and future trends
· How to write a winning proposal
· Writing a business plan
· Managing capital projects
· Researching and pitching to corporate sponsors

Cost:
£90 + VAT (£105.75). The price includes lunch, refreshments and networking drinks. A small number of bursaries are available from the ICO.
