Frankenstein's Cat - A Tail of Success
The BBC is buying a new children's series, Frankenstein's Cat, from well-known Manchester-based puppet makers Mackinnon and Saunders.

Frankenstein's Cat was created by writer/illustrator Curtis Jobling and was inspired by his book of the same name (Hodder Children's Books). Aimed at 6 to 11-year-olds, it's an anarchic comedy series featuring the hyperactive Nine (Frankenstein's Cat) and his sole friend and partner-in-mischief, Lottie.

North West Vision funded Mackinnon and Saunders, through its Regional Attraction Fund, to help to produce a trailer to promote the animation project to distributors and commissioners at the Cartoon Forum in Denmark.

Alice Morrison, Chief Executive at North West Vision said:

"We are proud to have supported an established company like Mackinnon and Saunders to get an exciting new project off the ground, even if he is a slightly stinky, troublesome feline."

The series is being co-produced with Kayenta Production, Paris and will air on CBBC.
