BADLY DRAWN BOY PROMOTES THE NORTHWEST

As part of a campaign to promote the Northwest to audiences across the South of England, Manchester based Damon Gough AKA Badly Drawn Boy, headed down to Castlefield recently and backed by a full orchestra, played guitar in front of a local camera crew.

Producer Cheryl Twomey who is currently working on the project funded by North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) explained: “So far this has gone brilliantly well. We did have some torrential rain up in the Lake District last week which tested our rescheduling skills but the weather today is just fantastic.”

“Everyone has co-operated to make this run smoothly and take it in the right direction. I phoned the Manchester film office late in the afternoon last week and they were able to make some essential last minute changes.”

North West Vision’s Greater Manchester, Liverpool and Cumbria film offices have all assisted with filming demands for the campaign, which will be formally revealed by the NWDA later in the year.

Cheryl adds: “The crew are all Northwest-based but the screen division of the production team are from London and have been amazed by how things run here, even when the rain came down. They’re already looking forward to coming back.”
